The Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Capaccio Paestum and the Provincial Environmental Security Guards Unit Accademia Kronos carried out an operation to protect the environment which made it possible to ascertain that the owner of a buffalo farm was illegally disposing of livestock waste within the company center and in the nearby consortium channels, resulting in a widespread pollution phenomenon which was further aggravated by the illicit disposal of whey. The checks carried out with the aid of fluoresceinain fact, made it possible to ascertain that the wastewater, through a network of underground pipes and wells, had the company land as its final receptor.
The operation which began at the first light of dawn made it possible to ascertain that in addition to the illicit disposal of livestock sewage, the entrepreneur disposed of it on his own land also other types of waste (wooden waste, plastic, unsorted waste, used tyres, etc.) During the operations, the soldiers and technical staff of the AK Guards Unit, after having carried out careful checks with the aid of fluorescein, also ascertained that the owner of the company disposed also the waters of the squares were illegally placed in the nearby consortium canals as they lack any system of regulation.
At the end of the inspection operations, the military proceeded to administratively check the documentation necessary for the disposal of livestock effluents and the different types of waste produced on the farm, noting that the owner of the livestock farm was not in possession of any documentation. In light of what had been ascertained, the military proceeded to seize part of the company center as it was actually affected by the illicit disposal of dangerous and non-dangerous special waste and to reported in a state of freedom for illegal waste management and because it is unable to document the disposal of the hazardous and non-hazardous special waste produced in recent years
