There were three accidents involving motorists within a short space of time last night. All 3 drivers were under the influence of alcohol.
Nottwil – Länggassstrasse
On Thursday, March 31, 2022, shortly after 11:00 p.m., a driver drove on Länggassstrasse from Buttisholz in the direction of Nottwil. In a left turn, the car went off the right lane and crashed into a guardrail. Finally, the vehicle came to a standstill in the meadow. Nobody got hurt.
The breath alcohol test showed a value of 0.3 mg/l. The 59-year-old driver had to undergo blood and urine tests. The driver’s license was secured for the attention of the administrative authority.
The car was no longer drivable and had to be taken away. The accident resulted in property damage of around 20,000 francs.
Ebikon – Sedelstrasse
Shortly before 11:30 p.m., a driver drove in the municipality of Ebikon from Reusseggstrasse in the direction of Lucerne. On Sedelstrasse, the vehicle left the road on the right and crashed into a fence post. The driver turned and drove towards Reusseggstrasse, where he was finally stopped and checked by a police patrol.
The breath alcohol test of the 46-year-old driver showed a value of 0.67 mg/l. He had to undergo blood and urine tests. The driver’s license was secured for the attention of the administrative authority. Nobody got hurt.
The accident resulted in property damage of around 4,000 francs.
Emmenbrücke, Rothenburgstrasse
On Friday, April 1, 2022, shortly after midnight, a vehicle driver drove into the A2 motorway exit in Rothenburg and intended to turn left onto Rothenburgstrasse. During the turning manoeuvre, the car went too far to the right and touched the curb with the right wheel.
Nobody was injured in the accident. The breath alcohol test showed 1.03 mg/l. He too had to undergo blood and urine tests and hand in his driver’s license to the administrative authorities.
The vehicle was no longer drivable and had to be removed. The accident resulted in property damage of several thousand francs.
