Wildly beaten and cbeaten 60 times by her stepfather until killing her only because at the age of two he could not do the toilet in the potty. It is the horrible violence that was the victim of little Knesnia Dubrovina, a Russian girl found dead in June last year in Togliatti in western Russia. As the local police investigations have reconstructed, Anton Proskurin, the new partner of her mother, the 25-year-old Zinaida Proskurina, who according to the indictment knew about the abuse of the child but did nothing to stop them. In fact, according to investigators, the little girl was beaten for months before the episode that led to her death.
The coroner’s autopsy determined that Ksenia was shot at least twenty times in the head and about forty times in the whole body, which caused her to bleed that proved fatal. When help arrived at the family’s home, the girl’s head “swelled up horribly and looked like a balloon” as investigators told. The mother called the ambulance but only 24 hours later the terrible facts when the child had already stopped breathing. For the prosecution, the woman probably wanted to hide yet another violence perpetrated by her partner because she was aware of the abuse, which took place for several months, but did nothing to protect her daughter. According to investigators, to hide the bruises on the child, the mother also used makeup to mask Ksenia’s bruises, the woman is currently under investigation for failing to fulfill her duties as a parent.
