During the speed experiment, the car with an eight-cylinder fork tuned by Hennessey Performance up to 800 horsepower (597 kW) attacked with a tree on the roof at a speed of 294.5 km / h! He thus broke the previous record, which held the tuned Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at 1,000 horsepower (746 kW). He drove a Christmas tree on the roof in 2019 at 291 km / h.

Riding at the highest possible speed with a Christmas tree on the roof is now a Christmas tradition for Hennessey Performance. This year’s record attempt was started by driving a Porsche 911 Turbo S. However, the personal car of the company’s founder and its general manager John Hennessey with 750 horsepower (559 kW) proved to be not very suitable for this task. With a tree on the roof, it was an incredible 48 km / h slower than without it.
Hennessey so he was looking for another suitable vehicle for this experiment, while the choice fell on his wife’s car, the just modified Audi RS 6 Avant, which in turn scored. Without a tree on the roof, by the way, this station wagon even drove at a speed of 330 km / h. “Who needs a reindeer when your wife has an eight-horse sled?” laughs John Hennessey.
