Jakarta, Investor.id – There are objects that are usually captured from a distance, such as wildlife, birds, aerial photography, as well as the momentum of sports competitions. In order to obtain the desired image, a telephoto lens is needed. Along with the development of mirrorless digital cameras which are increasingly popular with the public for various activities, telephoto lenses for this type of camera are also needed.
Canon through pt Datascrip as the sole distributor of its digital imaging products in Indonesia presents two series of super telephoto lenses that have been eagerly awaited by users of the Canon mirrorless full-frame EOS R series, namely the RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF600mm f/4L IS. USM. The two lenses that are included in the premium L series lens line are the mainstay of professional photographers who prioritize image quality, optimal performance and durability when shooting.
Head of Marketing Division Canon Business Unit pt Datascrip Syailendra Kamdani said, since the introduction of Canon’s first full-frame mirrorless EOS R camera in 2018, Canon has developed and launched various lenses with RF mounts for users of the EOS R system. This super telephoto lens further confirms our commitment to continue to develop the RF lens ecosystem to meet the needs of photography enthusiasts in various genres,” said Syailendra.
The Canon RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF600mm f/4L IS USM lenses inherit the optical and mechanical design of the Canon EF400mm f/2.8L IS III USM and EF600mm f/4L IS III USM lenses, making them both lighter in weight. light weight, as well as a significant improvement in optical quality over previous generations of lenses.
Canon includes Air Sphere Coating (ASC) technology on both of these lenses which can effectively control the appearance of ghosting and flaring effects, even when a strong light source is in the frame. This is especially useful when shooting situations where the light is coming from, such as when shooting motorcycle racing or cars when the vehicle’s headlights are on.
The challenge of remote photography is the sensitivity to shake when shooting. No need to worry about these two new super telephoto lenses because they are equipped with an Image Stabilizer (IS) that can reach 5.5 stops, which will also be very useful when shooting in low light conditions. The RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF600mm f/4L IS USM lenses have three IS modes that are optimized to match the movement of the subject when shooting. Mode 1 is for stationary subjects, mode 2 is ideal for panning shots, and mode 3 is for subjects with irregular motion, such as when shooting a basketball game where player movements are unpredictable.
Shooting video with a telephoto lens can be challenging when the subject moves in different lighting environments. The Canon RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF600mm f/4L IS USM lenses are also designed for video recording needs by providing better exposure control. The 1/8 stop adjustment in Movie Shooting mode allows brightness to be changed more smoothly, compared to the 1/3 stop adjustment applied to EF lenses.
For reliability and durability, both lenses are specially designed with weather sealing to prevent dust and water droplets from entering. In addition, the RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF600mm f/4L IS USM are coated with the iconic white tint, typical of Canon’s professional telephoto lenses. This coating is heat-resistant, scratch-resistant and maintains photo quality in various conditions and weather.
For users who need extra range, these two super telephoto lenses are compatible with existing RF extenders, namely RF 1.4x and RF 2x. For example, when the RF600mm f/4L IS USM is paired with a 2x RF extender, users can achieve focal lengths of up to 1200mm.
PT Datascrip as the sole distributor of Canon digital imaging products in Indonesia markets super telephoto lenses: Canon RF400mm f/2.8L IS USM at a price of IDR 224 million, Canon RF600mm f/4L IS USM at a price of IDR 244 million.
