Le Cannes Film Festival announced its “selection supplements”, Thursday April 21, 2022. And surprise, among the films added to the official selection and therefore competing for the Palme d’Or, A little brotherby Léonor Serraille, shot in April 2021 partly in Seine-Maritime, and in particular in Rouen.
Indeed, for several days, the director’s cameras had landed in several places in the department, in particular in Rouen, Dieppe, Elbeuf, Hautot sur Mer, Mont-Saint-Aignan, Poses, Ancourt, Sotteville sur Mer et Varengeville-sur-mer.

A little brother was supported in production by the Normandy Region, in partnership with the CNC and in association with Normandie Images. The film tells the story of “a woman who arrived from Africa and settled in the Parisian suburbs with her two sons”. From this installation until today, it will be a question, specifies the synopsis, of “construction and deconstruction of an ordinary family”. In the casting, Annabelle Lengronne, who we have already seen in The dream TeamStéphane Bak (starring in Wes Anderson’s latest film), Ahmed Sylla (L’ascension) or encore Kenzo Sambin.
Thus, Cannes festival-goers will be able to see, in particular, the rue Beauvoisine in the Great Light Theaterone of the most beautiful movie theaters in the world.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 17 to 27, 2022.
