The City Council of Canet d’en Berenguer wanted to keep the fight against breast cancer very present in its commemoration of March 8. This recognition was made visible with the Dragon Boat activity in which dozens of women participated, thanks to the collaboration of Amuhcanma, an association of women and men affected by this disease, and the yacht club. “It is the ship that defeats breast cancer with strokes of life,” explained the promoters of this initiative.
Previously, the women enjoyed a visit to the dune ridge of Canet beach, led by the municipal technician for the Environment and the councilor for the area, Felín Gómez. The participants not only learned about the flora and fauna, but also about the importance of this ecosystem in the protection and conservation of the coastline.
The day’s program continued with sports in the Plaza de los Pescadores, where two masterclasses took place, one on gap and the other on cubbá, in which dozens of women were encouraged to participate, as is usual in Canet’s proposals.
The Councilor for Equality wanted to “thank all the women and associations that have collaborated in this celebration, which have made March 8 fulfill its objective for yet another year: make women visible and contribute to the fight for equality. », pointed out Felín Gómez.
