Saul Canelo Alvarez managed to beat Billy Joe Saunders in a super middleweight boxing fight at AT&T Stadium, United States.
Canelo proved to be the best in the super middleweight division after winning by TKO over Saunders after the eighth round.
The first round, Saunders tried to take the initiative to attack first. Meanwhile, Canelo wasn’t too aggressive. He mostly waited and looked for loopholes to punch.
In the second round, Canelo starts to attack more and Saunders starts to play cautiously.
Canelo’s third and fourth rounds took control of the game and landed a few punches in the face of Saunders.
In the fifth round, Canelo’s hard blow that went in the direction of his stomach made Saunders ache and sigh for a few seconds.
Canelo got hotter and more aggressive he took advantage of Saunders’ condition which was starting to be in pain. Saunders tried to survive by hugging Canelo.
In the sixth round, Saunders managed to get up and take it well with a few punches to Canelo’s chest and face.
In the seventh round, Saunders put more pressure on Canelo. Meanwhile, Canelo tried to wait and countered with an upper cut and a punch towards Saunders’ body.
The eighth round, Saunders again took the initiative to attack first and tried to finish the fight in this round.
However, too many attacks left Saunders exhausted and tried to buy time by hugging Canelo.
The crowd rumbled as Canelo continued to beat up Saunders who was helpless and unable to return the opponent’s punches. It was fortunate that Saunders was still able to survive until the eighth round ended.
However, when the two fighters halted, the referee decided Canelo win by TKO over Saunders in the eighth round. Saunders are considered unable to continue the fight.
