When does the 14th “Let’s Dance” season start?
According to a current TV trailer, the new season starts on Friday, February 26th. The relatively early start date is likely to be related to the fact that the European Football Championship is to take place in the summer and RTL would like to be through with the relay by then so as not to compete with football. For this reason, “Let’s Dance” started in February 2020, but the EM had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic.
Who are the contestants in season 14?
“Mr. Tagesschau”, a reporter legend and the sister of Barack Obama: RTL is once again coming up with big names this year. Jan Hofer, who retired as a newscaster at the end of last year, will be there. After RTL’s exit from Formula 1, Kai Ebel also left his long-term reporter job and is now dancing with “Let’s Dance”. Meanwhile, “Prince Charming” Nicolas Puschmann is making a premiere: he will dance with a man. Before that, there was an all-female dance couple in the German edition.

Who are the professional dancers?
In 2020 there was a nasty surprise for “Let’s Dance” fans: audience favorite Ekaterina Leonova was missing from the line-up of professional dancers. It is still open whether she will be there again in 2021. What is certain is that Isabel Edvardsson will skip “Let’s Dance” in 2021. The likable Swede is expecting her second child in spring. Incidentally, not the only “Let’s Dance” baby expected for 2021: Massimo Sinató and ex-candidate Rebecca Mir will also be parents. Even if Isabel Edvardsson is missing: Most of the professional dancers who were there in 2020 will probably be back in 2021.

Who is dancing with whom?
The candidates and the professional dancers find out in the first episode of the new season. Who dances with whom is determined by the creators of the show. There is one exception: the winner of last year’s professional challenge can choose his dance partner from among the celebrities. In 2020 Christina Luft and Christian Polanc won the professional challenge. However, only one of the two can choose his partner. In 2020, Massimo Sinató proved that the free choice of partner is definitely an advantage. As the winner of the professional challenge, he decided on Lili Paul-Roncalli as his dance partner – and won the 13th “Let’s Dance” season with the circus artist.
Who are the Season 14 presenters?
Victoria Swarovski and Daniel Hartwich will once again form the moderator duo. Hartwich has been the presenter on “Let’s Dance” since 2010. As the successor to Hape Kerkeling, he has already moderated with Nazan Eckes, Sylvie Meis and, since 2018, with Swarovski. Victoria Swarovski was the 2016 “Let’s Dance” winner at Erich Klann’s side before she became a presenter on the RTL show in 2018.
Who is on the “Let’s Dance” jury?
For the “Let’s Dance” jury, RTL relies on the team that has been tried and tested for years. The former professional dancer Motsi Mabuse, the long-time judge Joachim Llambi and the eccentric choreographer Jorge Gonzalez evaluate the performance of the dance couples.
Who are the previous “Let’s Dance” winners?
The RTL program has so far produced 13 winners. Wayne Carpendale won the first season together with professional dancer Isabel Edvardsson. This was followed by a number of celebrity women as “Let’s Dance” winners: Susan Sideropoulos (2007), Sophia Thomalla (2010), Maite Kelly (2011) and Magdalena Brzeska (2012). After that, with the exception of Victoria Swarovski (2015), one man always won in seven other seasons. In 2020 Lili Paul-Roncalli broke this curse and won “Let’s Dance” together with Massimo Sinató boi. Luck in “Let’s Dance”, Glücl in love: The reigning “Let’s Dance” winner recently landed in the headlines due to her relationship with Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem. Is “Let’s Dance” a live show?
In fact, “Let’s Dance” is broadcast live from a studio in Cologne-Ossendorf. Since viewers can vote on who will be eliminated at the end of a program, it is not possible to broadcast a recording. It happens that “Let’s Dance” overshoots and the following programs begin with a delay.
Why are only cover versions played on “Let’s Dance”?
The reason for this is simple: the rhythm. Because often the beat for a dance has to be specially adapted, especially for pop songs that were not specially composed for standard and Latin dances. The only exceptions are the contemporary dances, for which there are no specifications for the beat. Therefore, original versions of the songs can sometimes be heard here.
Will there be a “Let’s Dance” tour in 2021?
In 2019 “Let’s Dance” went on tour for the first time. In November and December professional dancers and celebrities performed in the halls and arenas of various cities in Germany. The “Let’s Dance” stars wanted to tour Germany again in 2020, but the corona pandemic made this impossible. The “Let’s Dance” tour should now be rescheduled for November and December 2021, tickets for the 2020 tour will remain valid.
