This article is dedicated to a remembered candelariera, who since her adolescence stood out as a singer and amateur actress, in the cultural evenings that were held at the “Catholic Youth” Society of Candelaria, as well as in the patron saint festivities of this town, reaching to be well known and loved throughout the municipality, despite the fact that the lack of means did not allow her to pursue studies related to these vocations. She married and died prematurely, in full youth, after giving birth. Today he names a street in his hometown.
She was born in Candelaria on July 17, 1908, being the daughter of Don Juan González González, the first municipal guard of this municipality, and Doña Peregrina Hernández Sabina. On the 28th of that same month she was baptized in the church of Santa Ana by the parish priest Don José Trujillo y Trujillo; it was named “Josefa”And Mrs. Francisca Sabina y Sabina, a native and neighbor of said town, acted as godmother.
