· “Café del 8” opens at the 8th of October Theater
Cancun, QR, August 19, 2024.- “I am very happy to see that this ‘Café del 8’ coffee shop is a reality and will contribute to the promotion of culture and art in our city, because it complements our 8 de Octubre Theater,” said the Municipal President, Ana Paty Peralta, when inaugurating this space located on Chichén Itzá Avenue, Supermanzana 23, Block 55, Lot 1.
In addition, with the full moon as a witness, he highlighted that the cultural areas of the Founding Zone will continue to be reactivated, so that both Cancun residents and the millions of tourists who visit the city can enjoy them.
For his part, the head of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts (ICA), Carlos López Jiménez, reported that in this new cafeteria, apart from enjoying drinks and food, they will also be able to enjoy plays, book presentations, literary clubs, concerts and many other activities.
He also said that the establishment will be open from Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00.
With a ribbon cutting and the unveiling of a plaque, municipal authorities carried out the formal inauguration of this new space, making its opening official for the enjoyment of the community.
This important night for the artistic community was attended by the municipal dance, theater and choir companies, the latter livening up the evening; as well as the director of the DIF Benito Juárez, Marisol Sendo Rodríguez; the councilor, Lorena Martínez Bello; the councilor, Eduardo Kuyoc Martínez and the municipal secretary of Social and Economic Development, Berenice Sosa Osorio, among others.
