Al-Marsad Newspaper: The CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Dr. Majed Al-Fayyad, revealed the cost of treating a cancer patient.
He said during an interview with the “Al-Liwan” program broadcast on the Gulf Rotana channel: “The cost of cancer treatment depends on the type of cancer. If the patient needs hospitalization and chemotherapy, the cost is not less than one million riyals.”
And he continued: If a patient suffers from breast cancer in the first stage and undergoes an operation to remove the tumor, the cost is about 30 or 40 thousand, and if it is in an advanced stage, it needs more cost.
He added: On average, the cost ranges from 300 to 500 thousand riyals, but in the stages of admission to the hospital, it is not less than one million, indicating that the cost of treating one patient reached 10 million riyals.
