Almost three years after the entry of the new government, which made the Seguro Popular disappear to be replaced by INSABI, it has not been possible to recover third-level care and those who have suffered the most are women with cancer.

The director of the regional hospital Amparo Pape de Benavides, Dr. Ángel Cruz García Rodríguez, indicated that almost three years later, the efforts continue with the purpose of recovering free care in high-tech hospitals, where third-level patients were treated.

He explained that the hospital came from 3 to 4 women a month, who were diagnosed with breast, womb or ovarian cancer, that is, between 36 and 48 women were left without care to combat this disease.

“What we attended above all was cancer in women, we sent them to the health jurisdiction and from there the person in charge of women’s health, Dr. Leija, channeled them to private clinics in Saltillo.”

He specified that the San José or Muguerza de Saltillo clinic were where sick women were treated, thanks to an agreement of the federal government with them, an agreement that was eliminated with the arrival of the Health Institute for Well-being -INSABI-.

“Work continues but there is no answer either negative or in favor, we hope that free care for this type of patient will soon resume, since it is an important part of the care that was given.”
