In addition to the aging of the population, an unhealthy lifestyle causes cancer. According to oncologist Bernd Kremer of the Maastricht University Hospital, something can be done about it. “We will not reverse the increase in the number of cancer diagnoses over the next ten years,” he told L1mburg Centraal. “We hope this will be possible in the future, for example through initiatives such as a healthy primary school. This way children learn to eat and drink healthily. In this way we try to reduce cancer.”
