The cancer cafe is a collaboration between the oncology physiologist JoAnne van Yperen and the IJmond Noord library. Monthly meetings are held about the different aspects of living with cancer, for people who have (had) this disease and their partners.
Van Yperen has been working with cancer patients for over twenty-five years and has been organizing the cancer cafe since 2022. Angelique Koersen, sleep coach at the RKZ Beverwijk, will return as a guest in August. She will discuss the link between acceptance and fatigue in cancer. this includes chronic fatigue and reduced sleep quality as a result of the disease.
