The president of the Chamber of Mechanical Workshops (Canatame), Gino Fillieri, recently pointed out that there are pump systems and gasoline batteries that are not safe, with seals that are not Teflon, we have gasoline leaks and that is the reason why which the cars come to catch fire.
Gino Fillieri referred to the irregular events that have occurred in some service stations, where several vehicles have caught fire after refueling, and in this regard he explained that, despite the fact that gasoline is “to blame”, the main problem is a bad repair and unsuitable or defective spare parts.
“There are gasoline pumps that are not safe, with seals that are not Teflon, we have gasoline leaks and that is the reason why the cars catch fire,” explained the union leader.
Faced with this situation, Fillieri recommends drivers use original spare parts, go to formal workshops that grant guarantees for the work.
“Perhaps, when the pump module is changed, the proper one is not placed or the gasoline tank is repaired with black tape, or that it has not turned out well and a leak occurs (…) for gasoline to be guilty, he wants to say that it must be of a very high octane rating to achieve explosions of that size and the situation is different” Fillieri specified.
The head of Canatame added that the gasoline used in the country is low octane and is causing problems of lack of power and higher than due consumption, because it does not meet all the requirements.
Finally, Fillieri recalled that “at first we had this problem in Greater Caracas, when gasoline began to arrive after the pandemic… it is the same thing that happens in Maracaibo. There are customers who remove the gasoline hose from the pump to finish emptying the tank and then put it back, perhaps they removed the original clamps and that is the main reason for what is happening ”, he indicated.
