Competition in Ruzyně will bring a significant reduction in ticket prices for many destinations.
For the first time in history, it is possible to buy direct return tickets from Prague to the Canary Islands for a price of less than three thousand crowns. Today, Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa group, has expanded its offer of tickets to all eleven new destinations from Prague with cheaper fares. These show that passengers can benefit from competition on some routes in the form of cheaper tickets in the coming months.
The biggest change will occur at the connection to the Canary Islands, where the cheapest return fares for January at Eurowings start at CZK 2,788. Only Smartwings, which have a significantly higher flight offer, have been flying to the Canary Islands from Prague for a long time. But also a significantly higher price: the cheapest one-way ticket currently costs CZK 4,770. For cheaper flights to the Canary Islands, the Czechs had to go to airports in Germany or Austria.
Eurowings will fly from November to Prague to Tenerife and Fuerteventura. Eurowings will fly from Prague to 11 new destinations, most of which have the cheapest return tickets at prices between two and three thousand crowns, to some cities even under two thousand crowns.
Passengers will also face a significant price fight on the Prague-Barcelona route, where easyJet is entering in July. If he also flies in the winter flight schedule, there will be four carriers on the route. Eurowings reduced tickets to the Catalan capital to less than 1,800 crowns for return flights.
