The Canary Islands are not going to sit idly by before the imminent end of the moratorium to avoid evictions, decreed by the State, and established for August 9. The regional executive is working on a rule that prevents launches in the Islands. The Canary Islands Minister of Housing, Sebastián Franquis, has confirmed that they are working on a decree with clear and non-negotiable characteristics. It is essential, as he explained, that evictions do not take place until the archipelago comes out of the economic and social crisis in which it is immersed. For this, the autonomous government will rely on a series of reports and the situation set by the Ministry of Finance and Economy. All as long as the central government does not extend the current suspension. “We are negotiating”, has concluded Franquis.
A situation that has been made known to the people, 60 families, who have been camped, for several weeks, in front of the Presidency of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
