Legal advisor to Canal + Polska on this transaction was Kancelaria B2R LAW. Its value has not been made public. The building was designed in 2007 in accordance with the needs of Canal + and is characterized by, among others, the plus shape known by all Varsovians on the facade and an antenna park on the roof, which illuminates the surrounding area in the evenings. Offices, an advanced broadcasting center and professional TV studios are located on 7 above-ground floors.

New 4K studio
On August 5, a new studio was launched at the CANAL + headquarters, fully adapted to the implementation of programs in 4K quality. Its main and unique element is a movable video wall, which allows for a dynamic change of the scenery. Movable LED panels allow for any arrangement of space – depending on the nature of the program. Also new is the new camera arm with a 4K camera and over 200 calibration sensors. This allows virtual graphics and holograms to be displayed in the highest resolution in live programs.
Canal +’s revenues are growing
At the end of the first half of 2021, Canal + had 22.1 million subscribers, including 8.9 million in France alone. In the same period of last year subscribers were 20.4 million. TV operating revenues in France increased by 1.7%. On the other hand, on foreign markets, where Canal + is available by 4.4 percent. The increase in the number of subscribers contributed to this. Throughout the year, 1.4 million of them were added.
Canal +’s profits improved compared to the first half of last year. EBITDA increased from EUR 300 million to EUR 330 million. The last results for Canal + Polska come from a year ago. At that time, the operator had PLN 2.37 million of direct customers (0.3% more than a year earlier), i.e. using the Canal + Platform, telecommunications offer, VoD services and its packages on the Player platform belonging to TVN Discovery Group.
