Pascal Ferier, 53, of Quebec Province, appeared briefly in federal court in Buffalo, New York. The woman, through a French-English interpreter, requested to be represented by a court-appointed lawyer.

U.S. Justice Magistrate Kenneth Schroeder said on behalf of the accused that she did not plead guilty, which gives her more rights at this stage of the proceedings.

According to the indictment published on Tuesday, Ferri had sent to the White House an envelope with castor, which is obtained from castor seeds. The envelope also contained a short letter with a text addressed to Tramp.
–
“I found you a new word, ‘Ugly tyrant clown;’ I hope you like it, ‘” the letter said. Its contents were reported by a secret agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), an explosive technician, who attached an affidavit to the criminal claim.
–
“You are undermining and leading to disaster in the United States. Give up and withdraw your application for this election. I made a ‘Special Gift’ for you to make a decision. This gift is in this letter.”
–
“If that doesn’t work, I’ll find a better recipe for another poison or maybe use my gun when I can come. Enjoy! THE FREE SPIRIT OF A DUMPER,” the author of the letter wrote.
–
The affidavit says investigators found six more letters sent in mid-September to people in Texas working in places of detention where Ferrie was detained in 2019 after her arrest for illicit possession of weapons.
–
In all these letters and in her social media accounts, she used a similar form of expression. On Tuesday, Ferriere spoke only briefly at the federal court and requested a special hearing on September 28th.
–
U.S. prosecutors will have to prove her identity before proceeding.
–
Given the risk of a possible escape, Ferrier will be detained without the possibility of being released on bail.
–
It has already been reported that an envelope sent from Canada with a cast iron addressed to Tramp was discovered last week. However, the letter did not reach the White House, as all mail is inspected before being delivered to the White House.
–
The sender of the letter, who had a firearm, was detained on Sunday while crossing the border in Buffalo, New York, on arrival from Canada.
