Canadian Phil Wizard wins first men’s Olympic breakdancing gold

Paris. Canadian b-boy Phil Wizard won his first Olympic gold in breakdancing on Saturday, defeating Frenchman Dany Dann in the final of the 2024 Paris Games, who took the silver medal.

Phil Wizard, whose real name is Philip Kim, triumphed on the dance floor at the Place de la Concorde in the French capital, while American b-boy Victor took bronze.

Breakdancing, popularly known as breakdancing, made its first and possibly last Olympic appearance at Paris 2024, after having already been scrapped from the Los Angeles 2028 programme.

In the competition, 16 dancers, known as b-boys, went head-to-head in a series of battles that began in a group stage and progressed to a knockout round.

At one of the most spectacular Parisian venues for these Games, the b-boys put on a show that wowed the audience.

Paul Wizard, a 27-year-old former world champion, had the crowd against him when he took on local Dany Dann, a 36-year-old dancer with blue hair whose real name is Danis Civil.

But the Canadian soon won over the spectators with an incredible routine that earned him a 3-0 victory determined by the judges.
