Canadian crude exports from American ports on the Gulf of Mexico are expected to rise in October, in light of the decline in oil exports from Russia and Saudi Arabia, and due to maintenance work at American refineries, which are usually the largest importer of Canadian heavy crude.
All of these factors mean more oil will be available to ship to buyers in Asia and Europe.
Canadian oil shipments are expected to reach 11 million barrels next month, the second highest level ever.
This increase represents an almost six-fold jump over the volume of exports in September.
