Kerry Linn Wilson visited the Latvian National Opera for the first time in January 2020, conducting a performance of Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Bohemia”.
Kerry Linn Wilson’s international career as a guest conductor spans more than twenty years, conducting internationally acclaimed orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing at the world’s best operas, including the Royal Covent Garden State Opera, Bavaria in the opera. In 2020, Kerry Linn Wilson received the Opus Klassik Conductor of the Year nomination for Rossini’s “Zigismund” recording with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and Choir.
On the performances of the opera “Lady of Spades” on February 4 and 6, the first meeting with Latvian audiences is expected for mezzo-soprano Irīna Malceva, who will make her debut as Polina. The singer studied at the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow and Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She holds a Master’s degree from the Nuremberg Academy of Music. The artist has been a soloist at the Nuremberg State Theater Opera Studio.
