Canadian astronomers have discovered two aquatic planets

SciTechDaily in shapethat with the help of the Hubble and Spitzer telescopes, Canadian astronomers managed to detect two planets that are water worlds. They were called Kepler-138c and Kepler-138d.

The exoplanets found are 2-3 times the size of Earth and consist mostly of water. The scientists didn’t find the liquid directly, but calculations showed that a significant portion of Kepler-138c and Kepler-138d should contain volatiles heavier than hydrogen or helium.

Recently appeared new data on an extrasolar planet located near the Earth. Preliminary reports of the discovery were made in May of this year, and scientists have only now shared the results of their study.
