BrainFit is a new app that allows you to track your mental well-being on a daily basis. The idea here is to avoid years ahead of developing brain diseases as you age. To do this, several daily actions are necessary.
BrainFit: anticipating brain diseases
The Canadian company Women’s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI) launched in December 2022 the application BrainFit on iOS and Android. This application, not available in France, aims to help as many people as possible reduce the risks associated with the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
The organization logically explains that the lack of sport, obesity, stress or even high blood pressure can increase the “chances” of developing a disease, mainly Alzheimer’s disease.
Statistically, women seem visibly more affected than men. Nevertheless, both men and women are affected by this problem which usually starts after the age of 60.
However, science claims that the first symptoms and damage are visible 20 to 25 years before the disease actually strikes. It is therefore possible to start fighting it years in advance.
BrainFit aims to stimulate the brain through actions repeated daily and weekly. The goal is to improve your brain health using several small exercises that stimulate the six pillars of the brain, namely mental stimulation, sleep, exercise, nutrition, social life and stress management.
The application can especially help those who cannot keep the “rhythm of a healthy life” without consulting the list of actions to be carried out every day. Apple could also have the idea of drawing inspiration from it in the years to come with its Health application and its Apple Watch. She has apparently been working on Alzheimer’s since at least 2019.
