Saint Von Colucci, a young Canadian who spent more than $220,000 on cosmetic surgeries to look like a K-pop star, died on Sunday, April 23, at a South Korean hospital.
The death occurred in the middle of health complications which originated after development of an infection by a jaw implant, which incorporated into his body in November of last year.
Eric BlakeVon Colucci’s publicist, told Daily Mail that he 22-year-old actor underwent surgery on Saturday April 22 to remove said piece and qualified as “tragic” that he died because he could not recover from this, which, he assured, had a high risk.
The young man, who spent the last hours of his life intubatedit had already been done twelve cosmetic surgeries in just one year to alter her appearancewith the aim of having as much resemblance as possible to Jiminmember of the popular South Korean band BTS.
Blake commented that Von Colucci had undergone procedures in the nose, eyes, eyebrows and lipsamong other parts of his body, motivated by the possibility of play the K-pop star in a drama that would premiere in the United States.
He also commented that the actor had come to South Korea in 2019 and started an artistic career sponsored with a music signaturein which he also undertook acting roles as reflected in his obtaining a supporting role in the said country series “Pretty Lies”.
“He felt very insecure about his face (…) It was very difficult for him to find a job in South Korea. and felt discriminated against because of his Western features,” Blake added.
The publicist revealed that what motivated Von Colucci to undergo the surgery that would end in his death was his disgust at the shape of your own jawwhich he considered very square and different from the sharp features in said part of his Asian peers.
