Canada’s largest city, Toronto, has a quarantine in the world

In Canada’s largest city, Toronto and many of its suburbs, quarantine will take effect on Monday due to the spread of the new coronavirus, Dags Ford, the prime minister of the province of Ontario, said on Friday.

“I have made it clear: the situation is extremely serious and further action is needed to prevent the worst-case scenario,” Ford told reporters.

“On Monday, November 23, at 10:01 a.m., Toronto and the Pila region will be quarantined.” The quarantine will last for at least 28 days, which is the duration of two incubation periods of the new coronavirus.

The regions of Durham and Waterloo will be designated as red “control” zones, while the regions of Huron-Perth, Niagara, Simko-Muskoka, South-West Montaria and Windsor will be designated as “restricted” zones.

Quarantine restrictions mean that indoor gatherings in other people’s households will not be allowed. Individuals living alone will be able to maintain close contact with one other household.

No more than 10 people will be able to attend services, funerals, weddings and outdoor events.

Restaurants will be able to sell food only for delivery or with home delivery. Gyms, personal care services, casinos and winnings will be closed.

Schools, pharmacies, medical and dental institutions, grocery stores, providers of essential services will continue to operate. Universities will move to virtual training, but with a few exceptions, such as clinical training.
