Canadian tennis players are in the Davis Cup final for the second time in history. The squad led by world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime won 2-1 against Italy in Málaga.
In the first semifinal match on Saturday, Lorenzo Sonego gave Italy the lead in front of 9423 spectators 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (5:7), 6:4 against Denis Shapovalov. Auger-Aliassime equalized with 6:3, 6:4 against Lorenzo Musetti. Auger-Aliassime/Pospisil win the decisive brace against Berrettini/Fognini 7:6 (7:2), 7:5.
In Sunday’s final (1.00pm) the North Americans meet Australia. The 28-time Davis Cup winner beat Croatia 2-1 on Friday.
