Canada launches new standard travel certificate for vaccinated

Canada has introduced a new standard travel certificate for the Covid-19 vaccine. It will have a built-in QR code for scanning at airports, train stations, and other entry points.

The proof of vaccination certificate will have a Canadian identification mark and complies with the main international standards for smart health cards.

The document will include the person’s name, date of birth, and history of the Covid-19 vaccine, including the doses a person received and when they were inoculated.

Canadians will not be able to board a plane for domestic or foreign travel without a vaccination certificate as of November 30, 2021.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that his government will launch a new standardized Covid-19 vaccination travel certificate.

For Trudeaul, “as Canadians look to start traveling again, there will be a standardized proof of vaccination certificate,” while urging Canadian citizens who have not yet done so to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

He also confirmed that the national government will pay for the deployment of the standardized vaccination passport. ‘We will pay the bill,’ said Trudeau

The new digital travel document has been called Vaccine Passport.
