OTTAWA, April 11 (Xinhua) — Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced on Monday that Canada will impose new sanctions on the Russian defense sector.
According to a press release issued by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these new measures will impose restrictions on 33 defense sector entities that have provided direct or indirect support to the Russian military.
Since February 24, when the Russian-Ukrainian conflict began, Canada has imposed sanctions on more than 700 individuals and entities in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The new sanctions include asset freezes and specific bans directed against affected entities, according to the statement. End
