Toronto: Canada has expelled India’s diplomatic representative after allegations of India’s involvement in the killing of Khalistanist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. This was reported by various international media citing Canada’s Foreign Minister Melanie Joly. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has alleged that there is credible information that Indian agents are behind the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Following this, Canada expelled the Indian official further worsening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Media including Al Jazeera reported that Melanie Jolie explained that the diplomatic representative was expelled in the context of the clear connection with India regarding the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. However, no information has been released as to who has been fired or from where.
“India’s action is unacceptable as an encroachment on Canada’s sovereignty. That is why the information about the expulsion of the diplomatic representative is being released’ – Melanie Joly said, Al Jazeera reported.
