Canada: Dillon Brooks’ turn to forfeit | NBA

The Canadian selection has published a new list reduced to 19 names for its participation in the pre-Olympic tournament which begins in Victoria next Tuesday. Pacers winger Oshae Brissett and Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks are no longer on the roster.

It’s still a big loss for Nick Nurse, as Dillon Brooks came out of his best season, and four interiors recently had to give up (Tristan Thompson, Brandon Clarke, Kelly Olynyk and Khem Birch).

During his last press briefing, the coach of Canada, however, said he was confident about the forces in the presence of his group, in particular composed of Cory Joseph, Nickeil Walker-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, RJ Barrett, Andrew Wiggins, Trey Lyles or again Dwight Powell.

As a reminder, Canada will face Greece and China in Group A while Group B is made up of Uruguay, Czech Republic and Turkey. The first two of each group will face off in the semi-finals and only the winner of the tournament will win their ticket to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
