Canada Day will be celebrated in Drummondville

FESTIVITIES. The Saint-Pierre Community Center invites the public on Friday, July 1 to take part in the festivities surrounding Canada Day.

The event will be celebrated on the outdoor grounds of the Community Center and Espace Familles Lemaire, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. All activities will be offered free of charge.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., children can have fun in the youth area where there will be inflatable structures and fairground games. During this period, volunteers from the “Welcome and Integration” kiosk will be on hand to hand out free Canada Day promotional items. Likewise, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., people will be able to taste a piece of cake bearing the image of Canada.

This year, a yard sale will take place. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., it will be possible to walk along the alley of the Espace Familles Lemaire to encourage the various vendors. Please note that items must be paid for in cash only.

Spectacles

Shows will be presented on two stages, one outdoors; the other in the Canimex room of the Espace Familles Lemaire. Here is the schedule:

4 p.m.: Official ceremony

5 p.m.: Mel Martin (outdoor stage)

7 p.m.: Benoit Labonté – Tribute to Joe Dassin (indoor stage)

9 p.m.: Hangover (outdoor stage)

11 p.m.: Closing of the site

It should be noted that a catering service will be on site between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. (LT)
