Experts answered the question of whether you can get cancer. The answer is simple and categorical – the cancer virus does not exist.
– There is no cancer virus. The disease cannot be “caught” in an elevator or on the subway. However, some viruses can provoke inflammatory processes and precancerous conditions, which, in turn, increase the risk of developing cancer. Such viruses are called oncogenic. These, for example, include the human papillomavirus (can cause cervical and oropharyngeal cancer), hepatitis C and B viruses (increase the likelihood of liver cancer), Helicobacter (causes atrophic gastritis, which increases the risk of stomach cancer).
