CONAKRY- The African Cup of Nations under 23 starts on June 24 and ends on July 8, 2023 on Moroccan soil. Among the qualified teams, fig Guinea which takes part for the first time in this continental tournament. This Tuesday, before the Syli moved from Conakry, the traditional handover ceremony for the Guinean tricolor took place in the presence of the players, the technical staff, the Minister of Sports Lansana Béa Diallo, as well as the president of CONOR Mariame Satina Diallo.
The team led by Morlaye Cissé received the encouragement and the message of support from the Guinean State, which remains united behind the national Syli U-23. Algassime Bah’s teammates have in turn pledged to honor Guinea at this CAN and to have a brilliant journey, before flying from Conakry to Morocco where the team will refine its final preparations before the tournament. It should be noted that Guinea will play the opening match on June 24 against Morocco. The Syli, which is housed in the same group as the Moroccan host country, Congo and Ghana, is going with the objective of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
