CAN preparations: Syli in Dubai, a choice that raises questions (Édito Mognouma)

CONAKRY- Nothing now surprises the Guineans, coming from the staff of Syli national, at its head Kaba Diawara, under the spotlight of criticism, for having recruited, alongside him, as his deputy on the benches of the national team, her consultant friend at Canal+in this case the unemployed former Malian international, Fousseni Diawara.

The choice made on Dubai (United Arab Emirates), for the regrouping of the national Syli as part of the preparations for the 34th edition of the CAN which opens on January 11 in Ivory Coast, beyond being criticized , is the expression of the bad approach accused of Kaba Diawara in his management of the national eleven, with catastrophic results. Last week, we learned that Syli, as part of its preparation, chose this exotic destination to say the least. For a competition taking place in West Africa, light years away from the chosen destination.

Worse, with different climatic conditions, the choice cannot be so unsuspected of major maneuvers aimed at pumping into the porous coffers of the State, to line one’s pockets, as we are used to. Guinea’s participation in the CAN in Egypt in 2019 still haunts people’s minds, because of its dual sporting-financial scandal. Never, to this day, has any light been shed on tens of billions taken out of our coffers in the name of narrow participation by the national team. Unfortunately, nowadays, the way things look, we are not far from the same scenario, with what is looming on the horizon with Kaba Diawara.
