Photosynthesis is a process of making or forming food by plants. Plants that can carry out this process must contain leaf green substances, namely chlorophyll with the help of sunlight energy.

Reported from various sources, plants need sunlight to carry out photosynthesis so that their nutritional needs are met. Because of this process, green plants are categorized as autotrophs (self-food producers).
In addition to sunlight, chlorophyll also plays an important role in this process. Chlorophyll is a pigment in green plants that functions to capture sunlight and then convert it into chemical energy that is bound in carbohydrate molecules.
In photosynthesis, sunlight energy reacts with six molecules of carbon dioxide (CO2) and six molecules of water (H2O) to produce one molecule of glucose (C6H12O6) and six molecules of oxygen (O2). With the following equation:
6CO2 + 6H2O + cahaya = C6H12O6 + 6O2
From the above results CO2 is converted into solid glucose for consumption by plants along with water. While oxygen (O2) is released into the air which is useful for humans.
