Skin and genital specialist (SpKK), dr. Litya Ayu Kanya Anindya. Sp.KK, FINS DV said that sunscreen cannot be used only once to provide protection throughout the day. He also said that the use of sunscreen should not be too thin even though the SPF content is high.
“Do not wear a sunscreen too thin because the SPF written on the sunscreen is also influenced by the amount or thickness of the sunscreen we use,” said dr. Litya recently.
He advises wearing sunscreen 15 to 20 minutes before exposure sun.
“Because it contains chemicals, it takes at least 15 minutes to work,” he said.
For the measurement, dr. Litya said that the correct dose is to apply 2 milliliters per square centimeter or the average face needs half a gram of sunscreen.

“On average, you have to re-apply it 3 hours after the first application. But before applying sunscreen, you should wash your face first. Wash old sunscreen and then apply a new one,” he explained.
L’oreal Paris Indonesia General Brand Manager Maria Adina said that currently many people understand the importance of using sunscreen. In the past, people used sunscreen only when going on vacation or swimming, now it’s different.
