LYNGDAL: After an incident in Lyngdal on Friday 13 May, where a man died on Wednesday 18 May, the police want a follow-up interrogation of a man in his 60s who was at the scene.

– Until now, the police have not succeeded in getting in touch with the witness and we therefore ask if he contacts the police in Agder as soon as possible, says prosecutor Liv Versland Seland in a press release.

– An interrogation was done with the person on the spot after the incident, and now we want a follow-up interrogation. The fact that he was present during the incident means that we believe it is important with a new interrogation, Seland says to Fædrelandsvennen.

The police have tried in vain to get in touch with him both over the phone, through family and at known addresses.

The witness in the 60s who is now wanted is not the only witness who was present when the incident of violence took place, Seland confirms.

Still charged

Police have upheld the charge against a man in his 40s. He is charged with aggravated assault. He should not be related to the deceased.

The accused has not previously pleaded guilty.

Accident the same day

It was Per Arne Sveum from Porsgrunn who died. In recent years he lived in Lyngdal. Like the accused, he was in his 60s.

After the incident, it was stated that the injured person had been the victim of a bicycle accident the same day.

The deceased will be autopsied on Tuesday 24 May with a view to finding the cause of death.
