Can not find the cause of fires on the railway

In July, fires on the Vestfold line caused damage worth millions of kroner. Now it turns out that the same thing happened in June, on another stretch.

Fire and rescue crews responded to fires along the railway track and in the station building in Sandefjord on 27 July. Because the emergency system was unable to disconnect the power, it was pumped out into the loose air and into the signal system. It caused fires and massive destruction.

– We have to find out what happened. This should not happen. It is very serious, says Tony Dæmring.

He is operations director for the railway area Sørvest, among other things with responsibility for maintenance, rails and signaling systems between Drammen, Bergen and
Stavanger.
