Manchester United joined Arsenal in the Europa League round of 16 after eliminating Barcelona in the play-off round of the competition.
The Red Devils finished runners-up in Group E behind Real Sociedad to book a showdown with the Catalan giants after they fell out of the Champions League.
Arsenal and United are among the leaders aspiring to win the Europa League
The first meeting between United and Barcelona proved to be an exciting one, as both teams led the way to a 2-2 draw to set up a tasty second leg.
Erik ten Hag’s side then came from behind to emerge victorious at Old Trafford, earning the draw 4-3 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, the Gunners comfortably topped Group A to head straight into the round of 16, where they patiently wait to find out who they will face.
But Mikel Arteta’s men will NO face United in today’s draw.
As in the case of the Champions League, clubs from the same association cannot play each other in the round of 16.
This means that the earliest a potential United vs. Arsenal clash in the Europa League can happen will be the quarter-finals.
Arsenal are seeded for the round of 16 draw, so they will play the second leg at home, but it will be the other way around for United.
The two clubs met in the 2008/09 Champions League semi-finals with the Manchester team victorious both at home and away.

The draw for the round of 16 of the Europa League will take place on Friday, February 24.
It will take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
The draw will start at 12pm local time, which is 11am UK time.
