Luis Suarez hope to follow in the footsteps David Villa of Atletico Madrid. Villa, who also came to Barcelona, was able to bring Los Rojiblancos to the LaLiga title.
Atletico announced that they had reached an agreement with Barcelona regarding the transfer of Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan attacker was redeemed by Los Colchoneros for a transfer value of 6 million euros.
The 33-year-old striker is one step away from wearing the Atletico shirt. All he had to do was complete medical tests.
If later he officially joins the Wanda Metropolitano, Suarez is certainly expected by Atletico fans to follow in the footsteps of David Villa. El Guaje is the last figure before Suarez to join Atletico from the Blaugrana.
Villa moved to Atletico for a fee of 2.1 million euros in the summer of 2013. Similar to Luis Suarez, Villa was released by El Barca to Atletico at the age of 31 years.
Even so, David Villa able to prove that he was not finished. His presence made Atletico even more dangerous at that time.

Villa under Diego Simeone was able to deliver Atletico to the LaLiga title and penetrate the Champions League final in the 2013/2014 season. He packed 15 goals and five assists that season before leaving for New York City the following season.
The expectations that accompany Suarez to follow in Villa’s footsteps at Atletico are certainly natural. Given, he does have a reputation as a top striker at Barcelona.
Luis Suarez has scored 198 goals in 283 appearances for Barcelona since joining in 2014. Let’s just look forward to whether Il Pistolero is able to bring Atletico back to win LaLiga and to the Champions League final like what was done by David Villa.
