Iran immediately rejected the claim and Russia did not provide any comment on the statement.
Afterwards, Tehran and Moscow announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin would visit the Iranian capital next week for talks with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
So, an important question arises, can Iranian drones be useful for Russia in special operations in Ukraine?
RT.com explains why the US is concerned about the prospect and how these developments could affect a possible lifting of sanctions against Iran.
Washington had been wary of Iran’s drone program even before Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine.
Last November, the US imposed sanctions on private Iranian companies suspected of being involved in the production of combat and reconnaissance unmanned vehicles (UAVs).
According to the American side, these companies admit to engaging in “private research” while secretly providing critical support for the development of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps UAV and conducting international transactions for the benefit of the Iranian government.
