Mexico City.- In recent times the Infonavit It has opened up more possibilities for people to acquire their home through a loan granted by the institute and one of these is “ConstruYo”, which even allows building on communal land, as assured by the dependency.
Self-production of housing has several advantages, among which are choosing the location that best suits the person, making a custom design, establishing the budget and building or remodeling in stages.
Considering the above aspects, Infonavit mentions, about 70% of Mexicans have decided to build their own home and a new tool to achieve this is the “ConstruYo” loan, a loan to improve, expand or build their home.
“It is a flexible loan that adapts to the needs and possibilities of each worker, who decides the amount and term of the loan, which can be in multiple combinations”, highlighted as the main characteristic of this program Samuel Valenzuela, senior manager of self-production of the Infonavit.
In his podcast episode “ConstruYo, the credit to build on your own”, published on June 21, 2021, Infonavit assured that this credit can be used for any property: private, ejido or government and it does not necessarily have to be in the name of the worker. Besides that a mortgage guarantee is not requested.
Among other information to take into account about this program are:
- Requesting this product does not limit you to requesting other credits from Infonavit
- Can be ordered multiple times
- The maximum amount that can be granted is 544 thousand 800 pesos, with terms of 24 to 120 months
- It cannot be requested jointly, but it can be combined with the credit of other people (partner or family)
- To be able to request it, you must have the necessary points and a current employment relationship with at least 8 bimonths of continuous contribution with the same employer
This credit can be used in three different ways:
- I build minor repairs – improvements like changing windows, painting or waterproofing
- I build with technical advice – to expand, reinforce or remodel spaces that could affect the structure of the home
- ConstruYo con constructora – to build a new home, expand, reinforce or remodel spaces
