Jakarta –
Talk about speed of light synonymous with the fastest thing in the universe. How not, the speed reaches 186,000 miles per second or equal to 300,000 kilometers per second. In the laws of physics, the speed limit is considered very high for all objects in the universe.
Whenever scientists try to determine if something can travel faster than light, the universe will collapse. If humans think they want to travel around the solar system, then humans must be able to travel faster than light or at least close to the speed of light.
Then, can we travel through space faster than light? The answer is yes. Of course, in theoretical ways according to what scientists say, as reported by the World Atlas page.
How to Explore Space Faster Than Light
1. Through Wormholes
The speed of light is fixed and there is physically no way to go faster than it, but we can travel faster than light. How? instead of moving faster, we can take shortcuts.
For example, when we want to reach our destination, we have to cross mountains. How to reach it can be by driving around the mountains or through a tunnel that goes directly through the mountains.
In fact, if we travel at the same speed through the tunnel or not, traveling through the tunnel will be more effective and faster. But is there another way to travel in space?
Theoretically, such things exist in outer space, for example wormholes. Wormholes are tunnels that connect two points in space that can be years apart light.
Wormholes are considered a shortcut in outer space. So you can’t move faster than light, but you can take shortcuts to get there first. Unfortunately, until now scientists have not found evidence that wormholes really exist, especially when traveling.
2. Using Hyperdrive
If you often watch Star Wars or Star Trek, surely you will often see that they travel faster because they use hyperdrive. Theoretically, it is possible to create a hyperdrive with the right technology and the right amount of energy.
Hyperdrive works the same way as a wormhole. In Albert Einstein’s theory of gravity, he stated that space can be stretched and bent. So, the hyperdrive will work by changing the space.
As with wormholes, hyperdrives are just a shortcut. The speed will certainly not be able to exceed the speed light.
