Goods smelling of China are still often underestimated. It is no exception when talking about cars, the quality is still often doubted. But if you pay close attention here, Chinese cars are starting to look promising.
The technology presented is also quite sophisticated. You could say that regarding the development of this technology, it is on par with European premium cars. It is not impossible that in the future Chinese cars will become the main choice and compete with Japanese to European manufacturers.
This has happened to gadget manufacturers. Chinese brand gadget manufacturers now dominate in many countries, including Indonesia.
“If you talk about 10 years ago, you ask people about China, maybe most of them will answer cheap, low quality. But now, when you ask about China, everyone thinks about advanced technology,” said Chery International President Zhang Gui Bing when met in Wuhu, China, Friday (10/2/2023).
With that in mind, Zhang is quite confident that Chinese manufacturers like Chery can dominate the world automotive market in the future. In addition, many changes were made by Chinese manufacturers.
“You must know that Chinese brand mobile phones such as Huawei, Xiaomi are very well known in the world. China has a lot of new technology, the investment is large. The latest technology can also be used in various sectors. As before, Chery cars may be considered by many people to be expensive, but now almost every corner has a Chery car,” Zhang added.
“Chinese manufacturers have changed a lot. In addition, China’s automotive market is quite large, I think 1/3 of the entire international automotive market is the Chinese market,” said Zhang.
Even in Indonesia, Zhang hopes that Chery can make a good record after making bad history. Chery itself plans to build a right-hand drive car manufacturing center in Indonesia. Later from the factory, Chery will export a line of cars to many countries.
“I think Indonesia has a very large population. Going forward, Indonesia’s economy will also continue to grow, and its technology will become more sophisticated. The Indonesian automotive market is also very large. For that I want Indonesia for Chery, but not only in Indonesia. It’s possible to be Chery’s right-hand drive car production center,” Zhang concluded.
