can be seen at Eurosport on Sunday afternoon

On Sunday, June 28, the day on which the Motul TT Assen would take place, Eurosport will broadcast a special that will whisper MotoGP fans and Dutch TT enthusiasts to the television. In addition to this TT Assen Special, Eurosport will also broadcast two documentaries and a number of repetitions of the previous editions of the Dutch TT.

For the first time since 1949, there is no Dutch TT in Assen this year due to the corona measures. At Eurosport, therefore, a special of two hours can be seen about the history of the circuit, the most beautiful moments that have taken place there, the successes of the Dutch and what the cancellation of the race means for the circuit, the Dutch Moto2 team ‘NTS RW Racing GP ‘and the drivers.

In the special, Moto2 driver Bo Bendsneyder rides the motorcycle with which Jack Middelburg was the last Dutchman to win the TT Assen in 1980. Furthermore, Wilco Zeelenberg speaks about his three podium places at Assen, Michael van der Mark, the last Dutch MotoGP driver (and current WorldSBK driver) speaks about his experiences on the race track and takes us on the track and there is an extensive interview with reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez about his unforgettable TT moments. Finally, well-known MotoGP riders such as Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, Cal Crutchlow and Danilo Petrucci let us know what the Dutch TT means to them and we hear from Valentino Rossi.

More than just a TT Assen Special
The TT broadcasts on Eurosport start in the morning hours. Around 10:00 am, for example, a short summary of the 2019 edition of the Dutch TT will be available. The beginning and length of this summary depends in part on programming earlier in the morning.

From 10:15 AM there will be a documentary about Petronas Yamaha Sepang SRT followed by the beautiful documentary ‘Dovi Undaunted’, a documentary released by Red Bull where Andrea Dovizioso is followed during a challenging MotoGP season – a season in which he has injuries and defied his critics to win races and finish second in the MotoGP world championship.

A repeat of the 2017 edition of the Dutch TT will follow at 12:00, after which the TT Assen Special will start at 13:00. Afterwards there will be repetitions of both the 2018 and a longer summary of the 2019 edition of the Dutch TT.

In short, Eurosport will be devoted to the Motul TT Assen for much of the day on Sunday 28 June.

The broadcast schedule and programming is as follows:

  • -: – – 10:15 am TT Assen 2019
  • 10: 15-10: 45 am Petronas Docu
  • 10: 45-12: 00 Dovi Undaunted (documentary about Andrea Dovizioso)
  • 12: 00-13: 00 TT Assen 2017
  • 13: 00-15: 00 TT Assen Special
  • 15: 00-16: 00 TT Assen 2018
  • 16: 00-17: 15 TT Assen 2019

The broadcasts can be seen on both Eurosport 1 and the Eurosport Player.

This Sunday is also a prelude to the first live MotoGP that can be seen again on July 19, the MotoGP of Jerez. Eurosport will report on these races live that weekend, so racing fans won’t miss out on the action.
