ABIDJAN- This Saturday, January 13, 2024, the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations was officially launched in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. For this opening match, the Elephants welcomed Guinea-Bissau in front of their wild crowd at the Ebimpé stadium. And the Ivorians had no difficulty in claiming the scalp of Guinea-Bissau after their victory (2-0).
Séko Fofana and Krasso allowed the Ivorians to launch their CAN perfectly. This match was played in the presence of the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara and several other personalities including the presidents of FIFA Gianni Infantino and that of CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe. A first which marks a good start for the organizing country which will cross swords with Nigeria on the second day.
