CONAKRY- The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire starts on January 13, 2024. The Guinean team, housed in group C, along with Cameroon, Senegal and Gambia, is already getting into battle order .
Kaba Diawara and his players have in fact been in the Guinean capital since Thursday, December 28, 2023. The bulk of the contingent has arrived. Of the 25 players selected, 21 are already present. François Kamano, José Martinez Kanté, Aly Keïta and Naby Keïta are missing. Aly Keïta and José Kanté arrive this Friday evening while Naby Keita and Kamano will join the group directly in the United Arab Emirates.
Guinea will indeed carry out a preparation course in Abu Dhabi. The team will leave Conakry on December 30 after receiving the flag this Friday, December 29, 2023. A friendly match will take place on January 8, 2024 against Nigeria before the team in Kaba Diawara goes to the competition site in Côte d’Ivoire on January 12, 2024.
Guinea faces Cameroon on January 15, 2024, then Gambia on January 19, 2024 before facing Senegal on January 23, 2024.
