CAN 2023: Former sports ministers alongside the Stallions

The Stallions are making their second outing in the African Football Cup of Nations this Saturday, January 20, 2024, against Algeria. All the players recognize that this match will be difficult for Hubert Velud and his foals and that they need the support of the whole nation, the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Dr Aboubacar Savadogo, did not deviate to the rule by inviting his predecessors to this concert in support of the Stallions.

In the streets of Bouaké, an Ivorian town where the Stallions play group matches, we met General Ibrahim Traoré, Colonel-Major Yacouba Ouédraogo, Dr Taïrou Bangré, Daouda Azoupiou and Mathias Tankoano, all former Ministers of Sports. In addition to the cities, we also note the presence of General Nabéré Honoré Traoré, former president of the Burkinabè Football Federation (FBF) and Jean Yameogo, president of the Burkinabè National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSB).

They were in the company of officials from the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment. Present in Bouake, they came, like the hundreds of supporters from Burkina Faso and those who will come from other cities in Ivory Coast, to push the Stallions to victory against the Fennecs of Algeria. In the event of victory, Hubert Velud and his men obtain their ticket for the round of 16 of the competition.
